Accounting Officer

About the role

The Accounting Officer will support the Finance team of Old Mutual Alternative Investments (OMAI) by handling day‑to‑day transactional finance activities across several group entities, primarily OMAI and African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM). The role focuses on cashbook management, accounts payable and receivable processing, reconciliations, and month‑end support during a transitional period.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate cashbook records and process payments for multiple entities.
• Process bank transactions, monitor accounts, and perform bank, creditor and credit‑card reconciliations.
• Create payment batches on the online banking platform and obtain required authorisations.
• Capture, reconcile and settle creditor invoices; respond to creditor and debtor queries.
• Prepare monthly credit‑card reconciliations and journal allocations.
• Generate and post transactions in the Great Plains General Ledger system.
• Assist with pre‑payment schedules, BEE procurement reporting and other ad‑hoc finance tasks.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented finance professional comfortable working across multiple entities.
• Ability to manage high‑volume transactional workloads in a controlled environment.
• Proactive attitude toward stabilising processes and identifying efficiencies.
