Accountant – Vehicle Dealership

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join a vehicle dealership in Johannesburg. The role involves managing the dealership's financial records, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting budgeting and cash‑flow activities.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret, compile and maintain automotive accounting information for the dealership.
- Maintain monthly vehicle inventory and flooring records, performing reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements for submission to the manufacturer.
- Execute monthly bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with yearly budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting and purchase planning.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a Diploma in Accountancy.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience as an accountant, preferably in the trucking or vehicle dealership sector.
- Basic understanding of corporate taxes.
- Supervision experience and a clear criminal record.
Required skills
- Sound knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Good computer proficiency.
