Accountant – Record to Report

About the role

The Accountant – Record to Report will join the Shared Services Centre of MultiChoice Group, supporting the governance, control and reporting of fixed assets, revenue, subsidies, stock and inter‑company transactions. The role ensures compliance with accounting policies, internal controls and audit requirements while delivering accurate month‑end and year‑end financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input into the design, implementation and maintenance of robust controls, procedures and policies.
• Document and enforce processes for fixed assets, revenue, subsidies, stock and inter‑company activities.
• Contribute to the risk control matrix and implement controls to mitigate identified risks.
• Identify control weaknesses, recommend improvements and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Support internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve accounting processes and systems.
• Enforce governance of revenue, stock, subsidy, fixed‑asset and inter‑company policies, suggesting enhancements where needed.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end reporting, including preparation of schedules, variance analysis and journal reviews.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with governance, controls and policy implementation.
• Ability to work with audit teams and resolve findings efficiently.
• Excellent analytical skills to explain trends and variances.
• Effective collaboration with shared services and business partners.
