Accountant – Professional Accounting Practice

About the role

Our client, a well‑established professional accounting practice in Ermelo, is seeking a motivated Accountant to support its growing client base. The role offers the chance to develop practical accounting expertise while working alongside seasoned professionals in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounting records using Pastel
• Prepare and submit VAT and EMP returns
• Prepare financial statements
• Perform account reconciliations
• Manage debtors and creditors
• Capture, verify and analyse financial information
• Assist with general accounting and administrative functions
• Liaise with clients and relevant authorities

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Accounting as a subject is advantageous)
• BCom Accounting qualification or currently studying towards one
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
• Experience with Pastel is advantageous
• Sound understanding of accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and administrative abilities
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, professional and eager to learn
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans
