Accountant

About the role

Our client in Marianhill, Durban is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the full spectrum of accounting, payroll and fuel reconciliation activities. This is a permanent, full‑time position offering a competitive monthly package.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete bookkeeping using Pastel Partner, including accounts payable, receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and perform variance analysis.
• Process monthly payroll through VIP Payroll, handling PAYE, UIF, SDL and related reconciliations.
• Reconcile diesel fuel usage per vehicle against kilometres travelled and investigate variances.
• Assist with VAT and SARS submissions, support audits and ensure statutory compliance.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency with Pastel Partner and VIP Payroll systems.
• Strong Excel skills with high attention to detail.
• Proactive, solution‑driven attitude.
