Accountant

About the role

Buzz Accounting is seeking an experienced accounting professional to own the day‑to‑day bookkeeping for a portfolio of limited companies and sole traders. You will work in the engine room of the practice, ensuring records are accurate, reconciled and ready for senior review.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date books for multiple clients, processing sales, purchase invoices, expenses and bank transactions.
• Perform regular bank, credit‑card and control‑account reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, and prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Carry out month‑end routines and ensure records are review‑ready for the Senior Accountant.
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain information, answer queries and promote good record‑keeping habits.
• Identify and flag anomalies or missing information early.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of senior bookkeeping experience.
• Hands‑on experience across the full bookkeeping cycle, including processing, reconciliations, VAT and month‑end.
• Experience working in an accountancy practice or multi‑client environment.
• Highly accurate, organised and able to manage multiple client deadlines independently.
• Confident communication with clients and ability to chase information when needed.
