Accountant I – Financial Reporting & Analysis

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant I to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting for our organization. The role will oversee monthly accounting activities, statutory and management reporting, budgeting, and financial controls, supporting strategic decision‑making through insightful analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain monthly financial records and reporting packs.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts and perform VAT reconciliations.
• Process monthly journals, accounting adjustments and IFRS 17 reporting activities.
• Compile management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
• Support quarterly Board reporting and year‑end statutory reporting.
• Respond to internal and external audit queries.
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process, develop forecasts and monitor performance against budget.
• Provide financial analysis for strategic initiatives and ad‑hoc business requirements.

Required profile

• BCom Honours in Accounting or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in a commercial finance environment, preferably within insurance or financial services.
• Hands‑on experience with monthly financial reporting, management accounts and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
