Accountant – Fruit Industry (Somerset West)

About the role
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Accountant to join a fruit‑industry company based in Somerset West. The role involves supporting the finance team with a variety of transactional and reporting duties while ensuring accuracy under pressure.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and process invoices for container shipments.
- Perform bank reconciliations and allocate transactions.
- Load payments, request transfers and manage payment schedules.
- Assist in compiling producer reports and annual income statements.
- Handle VAT reconciliations, submissions and related queries.
- Order and track packaging materials.
- Support audit preparation and maintain the fixed asset register.
- Execute other financial functions as required.
Required profile
- BCom Accounting degree or equivalent with completed SAIPA or SAICA articles.
- 0‑3 years post‑article experience.
- Fluent in both Afrikaans and English.
- Own reliable transport.
Required skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Pastel accounting software.
