Accountant – Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our finance team, responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, managing tax compliance and supporting audit processes across multiple entities. The role offers exposure to multi‑entity consolidations and commercial finance analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, statutory financial statements and detailed management reports.
• Manage tax compliance obligations, including VAT, income tax, withholding tax and statutory submissions.
• Execute general ledger, payroll, bank, inter‑company and fixed‑asset reconciliations.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and oversee depreciation schedules.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to IFRS/GAAP standards.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow reports and perform variance analysis.
• Analyse profitability, cost structures and financial performance to inform business decisions.
• Monitor financial controls, recommend process improvements and identify financial risks.

Required profile

• CA(SA) with 1–3 years post‑articles experience, or CIMA, AGA(SA), SAIPA, ACCA with 5+ years relevant experience.
• Strong background in financial reporting, management accounting, tax compliance and audit coordination.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines.
• High attention to detail and excellent organisational and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including large‑dataset analysis and financial modelling.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and GAAP accounting standards.
• Experience with multi‑entity reporting, inter‑company accounting and financial consolidations.
• Competence in budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
