Accountant – Financial Reporting & General Ledger

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The role is responsible for accurate financial processing, reporting, reconciliations and maintaining strong controls across the finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver timely month‑end and year‑end financial reports.
• Maintain General Ledger integrity through journal processing and reconciliations.
• Manage cashbooks, banking transactions, and oversee debtor and creditor accounts.
• Monitor cashflow, ensure timely payments and collections, and resolve account queries.
• Handle VAT administration, statutory compliance and support audit preparation.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in a finance environment.
• Proven experience with month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, statutory compliance and audit requirements.
• Ability to work accurately in a high‑volume setting and meet strict deadlines.
