Accountant – Financial Accounting & Treasury Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an Accountant to provide end‑to‑end financial accounting support for VE South Africa (VESA) and its designated Power entities. The role covers accounts payable, treasury, fixed assets, financial reporting and month‑end close, ensuring accurate records, compliance with accounting standards and effective collaboration with the Global Business Solutions (GBS) team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable interface with GBS, ensuring invoice controls, PO tracking, GRNI reconciliation and month‑end accruals.
• Oversee vendor master data, run AP reports and support vendor payments.
• Assist with external audit preparation and month‑end closing activities.
• Administer travel management via Concur and corporate credit cards on the Citibank platform, including applications, limits and dispute resolution.
• Perform daily bank statement reviews, cash forecasting, weekly payment schedules and bank reconciliations.
• Monitor lubricants stock integrity, margin analysis and intercompany sales reporting.
• Support fixed‑asset processes, CAPEX budgeting and internal order creation in collaboration with GBS.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounts payable, treasury and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Familiarity with SAP reporting and ERP processes.
• Experience working with global finance teams or shared services (GBS).
• Ability to handle audit support and month‑end close tasks.
