Accountant – Finance Department

About the role

Apex Group is expanding its finance team in Cape Town and is looking for a proactive Accountant to support multiple entities within the group. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and contribute to accurate monthly reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and reconcile monthly accruals, pre‑payments and fixed‑asset registers.
• Execute monthly bank reconciliations and assist with payroll processing.
• Issue client invoices, manage aged receivables and reconcile revenue.
• Prepare cash‑flow analyses and support periodic VAT returns.
• Assist in month‑end close, variance analysis and production of management accounts.
• Provide reporting and reconciliations for the Financial Planning & Analysis team.
• Support capital adequacy, regulatory reporting and annual audit processes.

Required profile

• University degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
• Final stages of ACCA qualification (or similar).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with accounting software packages.
