Accountant – Corporate Finance & Reporting

About the role

Our client is seeking a detail‑oriented and reliable Accountant to join their growing team at Cape Town International Airport. The position offers exposure to complex transactions with a strong focus on quality and provides clear pathways for growth and development.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including consolidated statements.
• Capture, review, reconcile and balance general ledger entries; maintain fixed‑asset registers and oversee the debtor’s department.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, local tax regulations and relevant statutory bodies (CIPC, TC, etc.).
• Conduct variance analysis against forecasts and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Lead and mentor junior staff, delegate tasks and streamline daily accounting processes.
• Investigate and roll‑out a new accounting/bookings system for one of the companies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related commercial field.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CPA or CMA preferred.
• 3–5 years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, meticulous attention to detail and clear communication of financial data.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• Experience with modern accounting software – Xero, Sage or Microsoft Business Central.
