Accountant – Afrikaans Speaking (Remote)

About the role

Our client, a fast‑paced organisation with a solid track record, is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant who is fluent in Afrikaans and English. The role is remote but requires occasional attendance at team meetings and team‑building events. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounting transactions up to trial balance.
• Run payroll using Sage Payroll Professional.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns (VAT201, EMP201, EMP501, provisional tax, income tax).
• Compile audit schedules, asset registers and leave provisions.
• Assist auditors during audit periods and resolve queries.
• Reconcile payments via Standard Bank Business Online and perform supplier and VAT reconciliations.
• Maintain inventory records on Microsoft systems and manage ROE, UIF declarations and claims.
• Support preparation of management accounts, including income statements and cash flow statements.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting degree.
• 4‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Fluent speaking and writing in Afrikaans and English.
• Proven ability to work independently from home and manage time effectively.
• Strong numerical accuracy, logical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
