Accountant: Accounts Payable

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to join Sasso Consulting in Johannesburg. The role involves managing the full AP cycle, ensuring accurate payments, and supporting the finance team in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end accounts payable processes, from invoice receipt to payment.
• Process supplier invoices, perform reconciliations, accrue expenses and handle pre‑payments.
• Address supplier queries and resolve payment discrepancies promptly.
• Administer employee expense claims and company credit‑card transactions.
• Assist with VAT and tax compliance activities.
• Support month‑end close, reporting, and preparation of AP ageing reports.
• Provide cash‑flow forecasts related to payable activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• 2–3 years of hands‑on Accounts Payable experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and South African VAT regulations.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
