Account Manager – Digital Advertising

Takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for an Account Manager – Advertising to join the Takealot Group Advertising team in Cape Town. Key responsibilities

• Maximise value from existing Takealot Group relationships with brands and sellers.
• Attract new brands, agencies and non‑retail advertisers to invest in advertising inventory.
• Design and implement group advertising campaigns.
• Customise campaigns for high‑value clients and enhance the group rate card.
• Obtain assets for designers and ensure campaigns are added to the marketing calendar.
• Oversee billing, payment and campaign tracking reports.
• Communicate outcomes to clients and build a campaign execution portfolio.
• Consistently meet and exceed advertising sales targets.
• Leverage Takealot’s innovations to attract intended audiences and meet client success criteria.
• Utilise flexible pricing and buying models, including self‑service, managed service and programmatic ad buying.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma (or at least 6 years of account‑management experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in advertising sales (individual contributor).
• Strong understanding of digital advertising landscape and e‑commerce is advantageous.
• Proven ability to consistently achieve sales targets.
• Demonstrated internal and external relationship‑management skills.
