Academy Trainer – Systems Training (Retail)

About the role

Woolworths is seeking a passionate Academy Trainer to deliver systems training to its Fashion Beauty and Home (FBH) teams in Cape Town. The role focuses on enabling employees to confidently use planning, buying and sourcing tools, while supporting broader Learning & Development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate training sessions for new and existing FBH team members.
• Implement assessment processes to measure competence and training effectiveness.
• Partner with FBH leadership to identify knowledge gaps and contribute to curriculum design.
• Design and develop training materials for both traditional and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with functional experts to enhance training content and ensure accessibility.
• Identify refresher training needs and continuously evaluate programmes.
• Compile data and reports for management and stay updated on industry learning trends.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in a retail environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial understanding.
• Effective time management and ability to work collaboratively.
• Commitment to high performance and openness to feedback.
• Creative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Competence in FBH Planning Systems (e.g., Assort, Allocations, MP, PLM Planning).
• Competence in FBH Buying or Sourcing Systems.
