Workshop Technician

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Workshop Technician to join a fast‑paced heavy‑machinery workshop. You will play a key part in keeping a wide range of industrial equipment running reliably, supporting clients in container handling, material handling and mining sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults on heavy equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing to optimise machine performance.
• Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Maintain workshop safety and cleanliness standards.
• Complete job cards, reports and parts requisitions accurately.
• Ensure all work meets quality and turnaround‑time requirements.

Required profile

• Trade Test Certificate (Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter or equivalent) – essential.
• 3‑5 years’ experience in a heavy‑machinery or workshop environment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines and electrical systems.
• Experience with forklifts, reach stackers or similar equipment is advantageous.
• Ability to troubleshoot, work independently and perform under pressure.
