Workshop Cleaner

About the role

The Boilershop workshop department is looking for a hardworking, dedicated person to join its team as a cleaner. The post reports to the Boilershop Manager and involves keeping the workshop, workstations and surrounding areas clean. It is a permanent position with standard hours.

Key responsibilities

• Clean floors, work areas and workstations
• Clean surrounding pathways and entrances
• Carry out overall housekeeping on a daily basis
• Maintain the cleanliness of the workshop, workstations and tool stores
• Clean tools and equipment
• Assist artisans with basic tasks as and when required
• Follow the regulations set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• At least 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience
• Physically fit, able to handle materials and tools
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; understands, reads and writes English
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and under challenging conditions
• Willingness to work overtime when required
• Hard-working, self-motivated, with time management and organisational skills

• Knowledge of health and safety rules
• Teamwork and ability to work independently
