Work Integrated Learning Trainee – Non‑Technical (12‑Month Programme)

About the role

The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Trainee Programme provides students and recent graduates with a 12‑month, hands‑on experience in a real‑world workplace. Participants will apply their academic knowledge, receive mentorship, and develop employability through structured training and exposure to industry‑specific tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in specific projects within a department or work‑stream under supervision.
• Perform routine operational tasks and support administrative functions such as documentation and reporting.
• Participate in training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programmes; shadow experienced professionals.
• Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to understand business needs and serve as a central contact point for queries.
• Conduct market research, data collection and analysis to support business decisions; prepare reports and presentations using MS Office tools.
• Follow company policies, procedures and safety regulations; maintain confidentiality and professional standards.

Required profile

• Matric certificate and completion of all theoretical Information Technology subjects at a University of Technology.
• South African citizen, aged between 18 and 35.
• Preference will be given to persons with disability and to members of designated equity groups.
• Proof of certified Matric certificate, ID, full academic record and a letter from the institution confirming participation in the WIL programme.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
