Warehouse Supervisor – FMCG Food (Durban)

About the role

A well‑established food manufacturing company in Durban is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Warehouse Supervisor. The role involves managing daily warehouse operations, ensuring accurate stock control, supervising staff and maintaining food‑safety and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities and staff.
• Manage receiving, checking, storage and issuing of raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock counts.
• Investigate discrepancies, shortages, damages and variances.
• Apply FIFO/FEFO principles to ensure proper stock rotation and monitor expiry dates.
• Coordinate with production, procurement and dispatch departments to meet stock requirements.
• Maintain high standards of warehouse organisation, cleanliness and cold‑chain temperature control.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP and OHS regulations.
• Oversee staff attendance, productivity, discipline and performance.
• Develop, implement and communicate warehouse SOPs and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, preferably in FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Strong stock and inventory control background with knowledge of FIFO/FEFO.
• Understanding of food‑safety, hygiene and warehouse compliance requirements.
• Proven leadership and staff supervision abilities.
• Computer literate with good Excel and administrative skills.
• Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
