Warehouse Manager – Cold Store Operations

About the role

The company, a leading supplier of premium meat and food products to the catering and hospitality sectors, is seeking a Warehouse Manager to oversee its cold‑store operations. The role will be based at the new facility in Lords View Industrial Park, near Kempton Park, and will ensure safe storage, temperature compliance and efficient dispatch of frozen and chilled goods.

Key responsibilities

• Manage receiving, put‑away, picking and dispatch of all frozen and chilled products.
• Maintain FIFO/FEFO rotation, conduct regular stock takes and reconcile data with the Meat‑Matrix system.
• Monitor storage capacity, slotting and organization of cold rooms.
• Ensure cold rooms operate within required temperatures and keep temperature logs, cleaning schedules and audit records.
• Enforce HACCP, food‑safety and PPE compliance and uphold company SOPs.
• Lead, schedule and train the cold‑store team, forklift drivers and loaders.
• Prepare daily reports on stock variances, damages and productivity.
• Coordinate with dispatch, production, telesales and QA to optimise load planning.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years’ experience as a cold‑store supervisor or manager in an FMCG or meat facility.
• Proven experience with the Meat‑Matrix system (mandatory).
• Matric diploma; a certificate in cold‑chain management, logistics or food safety is advantageous.
• Good health, own transport and a valid driver’s licence; forklift licence is a plus.

Required skills

• Meat‑Matrix (or similar OMS) operation.
• HACCP and cold‑chain food‑safety knowledge.
• Forklift and pallet‑jack operation.
• Computer literacy – Excel and basic OMS reporting.
