About the role
An established animal welfare organisation is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Nurse to support veterinarians in delivering high‑quality care to small animals in the Hermanus area. The role combines clinical duties with education of pet owners and requires resilience to handle emotionally challenging cases.
Key responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries and post‑operative monitoring.
- Administer medications, vaccines and treatments as directed.
- Perform laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures and imaging techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration.
Required profile
- Dip/Degree in Veterinary Nursing.
- SAVC registration and up‑to‑date CPD points.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Resilient, empathetic and able to work in a welfare environment.
- Valid driver’s licence and fluency in Afrikaans and English.
