UPS Technician – Power Backup Specialist

About the role

The Digital Energy client in Cape Town is seeking a skilled UPS Technician to ensure reliable power backup for critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, providing both preventive and emergency support on site.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and test UPS equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and respond to emergency breakdowns.
• Diagnose faults, repair or replace components, and restore power functionality.
• Complete detailed service reports and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Deliver professional on‑site customer service and technical advice.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with UPS systems.
• Strong electrical knowledge and fault‑finding abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence for travel to client sites.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
