About the role

The private hospital in Randburg is seeking an experienced Unit Manager for its Maternity Ward. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high‑quality patient care while fostering professional development among staff.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safe, cost‑effective, evidence‑based patient care aligned with the hospital’s clinical governance strategy.
• Monitor nursing quality indicators, clinical outcomes, and patient experience.
• Communicate clearly with patients about their care plans.
• Promote health, wellbeing, and infection‑prevention standards for patients and employees.
• Drive group quality initiatives and liaise with public liability regarding risk incidents.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with South African Nursing Council (SANC) registration.
• Post‑basic qualification in Midwifery and Management.
• Compulsory BLS certification.
• 3‑5 years experience as a Unit Manager in a maternity setting.
• Advanced computer literacy and compliance with all relevant health‑care legislation.
