Unit Manager – ICU, Paediatric Ward & NICU

About the role

The Unit Manager (I) will lead the Intensive Care Unit, Paediatric Ward and Neonatal ICU at Pelonomi Private Hospital. Reporting to senior hospital leadership, the role ensures high‑quality, safe nursing care in line with professional and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor nursing care delivery across ICU, Paediatric and NICU units.
• Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, legislation and hospital policies.
• Manage staffing acuity and skill mix to deliver cost‑effective, high‑quality care.
• Oversee financial aspects including budgeting, billing, stock management and purchasing.
• Identify and implement quality improvement initiatives and risk management actions.
• Investigate incidents, report to safety representatives and ensure equipment maintenance.
• Lead capacity‑building activities, mentoring and training for nursing staff.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with extensive experience in ICU, Paediatric or NICU settings.
• Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
• Strong understanding of health‑care regulations, quality assurance and risk management.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
