Underground Maintenance Foreman

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Underground Maintenance Foreman to lead a team in a Gauteng underground mining operation. The role involves supervising daily maintenance activities, ensuring safety compliance, and keeping critical equipment running efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate underground maintenance crews on a shift basis.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for mining equipment.
• Monitor compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and relevant certifications.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment such as Joy CMs, Joy Shuttlecars, roofbolters and feeder breakers.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report performance metrics to management.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education with a 2.9.2 Mine Health and Safety Act appointment (Section 13 or 26) or a relevant certified trade test.
• Minimum five years of supervisory experience in underground mining maintenance.
• Valid Gas Testing Certificate and Flameproof Certificate.
