About the role
The Transport Officer will oversee the daily operation of the vehicle fleet in Rustenburg, ensuring that both vehicles and drivers are ready to meet operational demands. The role is critical for maintaining operational efficiency, compliance with service schedules, and supporting the broader logistics function of the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure 100 % fleet and driver availability at all times, coordinating with drivers and dispatch to guarantee that every vehicle required for operations is present and ready.
- Ensure 100 % fleet cleanliness and adherence to scheduled maintenance according to workshop service plans, monitoring cleaning standards and maintenance logs to keep the fleet in optimal condition.
- Control shift schedules and oversee overtime work allocations, managing shift rotations and approving overtime to align workforce capacity with operational needs.
- Report to the operations manager and collaborate with the maintenance team to achieve fleet performance targets.
