Trainee Store Manager – Multiple South African Locations

About the role

Ackermans is seeking energetic and self‑motivated individuals to join our stores as Trainee Store Managers. You will act as a custodian of the brand, ensuring high standards across multiple locations in Witbank, Benoni, Kempton, Germiston and Boksburg.

Key responsibilities

• Represent and uphold the Ackermans brand within the store.
• Manage merchandise, stock levels and cost control to optimise profitability.
• Maintain high store standards, including visual presentation and cleanliness.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of sales associates.
• Communicate effectively with customers and staff in English, with additional language ability considered an advantage.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of retail experience, including at least one year in a supervisory or management role.
• Grade 12 or equivalent; graduates in retail or business management are preferred.
• Strong development orientation – eager to grow personally and help team members develop.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in a second official language is a plus.
