Trainee Store Manager – Johannesburg CBD & Centres

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Trainee Store Manager to lead our Ackermans store in Johannesburg’s CBD and surrounding centres. The role combines hands‑on store operations with leadership development, giving you the chance to shape the customer experience while growing your management skills.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high store standards and visual merchandising in line with brand guidelines.
• Oversee stock levels, conduct inventory checks and manage cost control measures.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of sales associates, ensuring excellent service delivery.
• Monitor sales performance, analyse results and implement improvement actions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and loss‑prevention procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of retail experience, including at least one year in a supervisory or management role.
• Grade 12 or equivalent; additional retail or business qualifications are a plus.
• Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in a second official language is advantageous.
• Self‑starter with high energy and a keen desire to develop personally and professionally.
