Trainee Process Technician (8 openings)

About the role

This entry‑level position is designed for individuals who want to start a career in industrial processing. You will work on operating, controlling and maintaining process equipment to turn raw materials into finished products that meet cost, quality and service targets.

Key responsibilities

• Set‑up, operate, monitor and control process equipment (excluding packaging) to ensure efficient production.
• Identify waste and inefficiencies in the production line and propose improvements.
• Assist with fault‑finding and problem‑solving to maximise equipment uptime.
• Maintain housekeeping and food‑safety standards to meet AIB and CRP requirements.
• Report breakdowns, maintenance needs and worn parts to the senior process technician.
• Follow safe operating practices to prevent accidents and support a safe work environment.
• Support ISO 14001 environmental management system compliance.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent education; related tertiary qualification is a plus.
• Basic literacy and numeracy with confidence using panel‑view computer screens.
• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn manufacturing equipment.
• Understanding of quality‑control specifications and techniques.

Required skills

• Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.
• Familiarity with IPS (Industrial Process Systems).
• Ability to operate and interpret panel‑view computer interfaces.
• Basic knowledge of quality‑control methods.
