Till Operator & Customer Assistant

About the role

Join Woolworths at Hemingways Mall in East London as a Till Operator & Customer Assistant. In this full‑time position you will handle cash‑register transactions, greet shoppers and support them throughout their visit.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently at the till.
• Welcome customers, answer queries and provide product information.
• Promote Woolworths loyalty programmes and additional services.
• Maintain a clean, organised and secure till area, adhering to hygiene and shrinkage‑prevention standards.
• Assist with stock replenishment and visual merchandising as needed.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent NQF qualification.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends.
• Reliability, honesty and a professional appearance.
• Ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure.
• Basic product knowledge and a customer‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• Intermediate numeracy and literacy for handling transactions.
• Basic selling skills to promote loyalty programmes.
• Attention to detail for maintaining a tidy till environment.
