Theatre‑Trained Registered Nurse – Perioperative Team

About the role

Our client is looking for a theatre‑trained Registered Nurse to join a professional peri‑operative team in Potchefstroom. The role focuses on delivering safe, high‑quality surgical care throughout the entire peri‑operative process.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care from pre‑operative assessment through post‑operative recovery.
• Prepare patients and the theatre environment for surgical procedures.
• Assist during surgeries in the appropriate theatre role, ensuring sterile technique.
• Maintain strict infection‑prevention standards and ensure all equipment and instruments are ready.
• Accurately document patient information and surgical details.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary team members.

Required profile

• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Previous experience working in an operating theatre.
• Post‑basic qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing (advantageous).
• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and theatre protocols.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
