About the role
Great North Transport, in partnership with Heitha Staffing Group, is seeking qualified candidates for a temporary bus driver position in Polokwane, Limpopo Province. The role focuses on safely transporting passengers to their destinations while adhering to company and traffic regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Transport passengers safely and on time to their destinations.
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑route vehicle inspections.
- Follow traffic laws and employer safety rules while driving.
- Collect fares and assist passengers needing help boarding or alighting.
- Maintain communication with the dispatcher throughout the shift.
- Complete paperwork for accidents, vehicle issues, and other incidents.
- Clean the bus interior as needed and answer passenger queries about routes, transfers, stops, and fares.
Required profile
- Minimum Grade 10 education.
- Valid driver’s licence (code EC and PDP).
- At least five years of hands‑on bus driving experience.
- Knowledge of traffic laws and a safe driving record.
- Basic maths skills for fare calculation and collection.
