Technology Domain Specialist I

About the role

The Technology Domain Specialist I will own and evolve the bank’s technology or domain asset, ensuring its health, reliability and alignment with business strategy. This senior role combines operational excellence, technical leadership and strategic planning within the centre of excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor daily backup operations using the Commvault CommCell Console.
• Troubleshoot backup incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor storage capacity, optimise performance and scheduling.
• Maintain readiness to transition to alternative backup platforms and participate in tool evaluation and migration planning.
• Provide expert guidance on architecture, design and integration to engineering leads and divisional executives.
• Lead code design practices, conduct technology reviews and enforce standards and patterns.
• Collaborate on technical roadmaps, drive implementation and ensure compliance with governance and regulatory frameworks.
• Conduct knowledge‑sharing sessions, mentor team members and represent the domain in conferences and special interest groups.
• Align technology initiatives with business objectives and contribute to corporate culture and responsibility efforts.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of IT experience, including at least 4 years with Commvault backup and recovery.
• Experience in enterprise data protection and storage concepts.
• Relevant academic background (Matric/Grade 12, Advanced Diploma or first degree).
• Certifications: Commvault Certified Professional and Commvault Certified Expert – CommCell Console.
