Technical Training Manager – Automotive

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Training Manager to lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of technical training for automotive glass repair and replacement technicians across our franchise network. The role is based in Johannesburg with occasional travel to other branches.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and update technical training modules and materials aligned with OEM standards and industry best practices.
• Deliver classroom and on‑site training sessions to technicians and branch staff nationwide.
• Maintain accurate training records, attendance registers and competency assessments; issue certificates upon completion.
• Conduct regular branch visits to assess workshop conditions, tools, compliance with corporate identity and identify training gaps.
• Prepare monthly reports on training delivery, branch visits, identified issues and recommended corrective actions.
• Handle technical assessments of complaints, determine root causes and propose preventative measures.
• Engage with insurance companies, brokers and the national network on technical matters.
• Support the online claims management system by ensuring accurate capture of technical data and training information.
• Promote a client‑centric culture and uphold brand standards across the network.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical training within the automotive sector, preferably with a focus on glass repair and ADAS technologies.
• Strong understanding of OEM requirements, industry standards and compliance procedures.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to travel regularly to branch locations.
