Technical Trainer

About the role

The Technical Trainer will deliver world‑class technical and operator training to support KWV’s strategic and operational objectives. Working within the Supply Chain department, you will design, facilitate and evaluate training programmes that enhance employee skills across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Assess training needs for each job function and develop a comprehensive training matrix.
• Create, update and formalise training material, SOPs, manuals and assessment guides in line with KWV standards.
• Collaborate with OEMs, service providers and internal subject‑matter experts to integrate product and process knowledge into training content.
• Plan and execute training programmes for new products, production lines or technologies, ensuring alignment with PDP & PIP plans and budget constraints.
• Conduct on‑the‑job observations, practical assessments and competency evaluations to certify operators.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• 5–7 years of production experience in an FMCG environment with strong people‑development exposure.
• Engineering‑related background (mechanical, electrical, industrial or chemical) is advantageous.
• Passion for knowledge transfer, strong planning and reporting skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Confident public speaker, fluent in English and Afrikaas, with experience in coaching and mentoring.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training manuals.
• Ability to design assessment guides and conduct competency evaluations.
