Technical Systems Analyst – International/Cross‑Border Payments

About the role

Our client, a leading financial institution, is looking for an experienced Technical Systems Analyst to support a strategic international payments project and later join a broader modernisation programme within its Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) division. The role is technical rather than purely functional, requiring hands‑on analysis of applications, data flows, integrations and system behaviour.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business and system requirements and produce detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Review existing applications, databases, interfaces and integrations to assess impact of changes.
• Create system and sequence diagrams, use‑case diagrams, data flow diagrams and data‑mapping documents.
• Work closely with solution architects, developers and testers during design, development and testing phases.
• Analyse XML/JSON payloads, schemas and API message structures, and evaluate downstream/upstream impacts.
• Support SIT, integration testing and UAT, including defect analysis and root‑cause investigation.
• Investigate production issues, assess system‑to‑system integrations and provide remediation recommendations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst or Systems Analyst in a complex banking or payments environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical designs.
• Comfortable working in Agile ceremonies and technical workshops.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with both technical and business stakeholders.
