Technical Support Agent – ISP (Claremont, Cape Town)

About the role

Our client, a full‑service Internet Service Provider and Fibre Network Operator, is looking for a Technical Support Agent to be the first point of contact for residential and business customers. You will deliver first‑ and second‑line support via phone, email and remote desktop, ensuring fast resolution and high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Log and manage IT/internet incident tickets from customers.
• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN and user device connectivity issues.
• Provide remote or telephone assistance for connectivity problems.
• Escalate unresolved issues to higher‑level support teams.
• Install and configure new devices and support field technicians.
• Maintain accurate records in the IT service‑desk system.
• Participate in internal training to stay current with technology.
• Work occasional night or weekend shifts as required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with 6 months to 2 years experience in the ISP industry.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
• Any additional IT qualification is a plus.

Required skills

• A+ certification (beneficial).
• N+ certification (beneficial).
• MikroTik (MTCNA) knowledge (beneficial).
• LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
• Remote desktop support.
• Device installation and configuration.
• Proficiency with an IT service‑desk system.
