Technical Sales Representative

About the role

The Technical Sales Representative will drive revenue by prospecting new clients, closing deals and managing existing accounts. You will act as the bridge between customers, architects, engineers and the sales team, ensuring product specifications translate into successful projects.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve regional and personal sales targets.
• Create, develop and maintain customer relationships across the assigned area.
• Support the sales team with product specifications, interior layout design and presentations to architects, engineers and applicators.
• Focus on the contractor market while aligning with end‑user and specifier requirements.
• Provide product training to improve customer effectiveness.
• Generate new leads, build sustainable relationships and meet closure‑rate and forecast‑accuracy KPIs.
• Maintain project registers, conduct monthly team reviews and adhere to commercial reporting procedures.
• Analyse customer product mixes to demonstrate value for both the client and Mapei.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of the full sales process with a proven ability to prospect and close deals.
• Well‑organized, capable of managing daily operations of assigned accounts.
• Tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6) and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong organizational, communication and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
