Technical Sales Representative – Agriculture (Mpumalanga)

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong, agriculture‑focused Sales Representative to drive sales, support clients, and grow market share within the Mpumalanga region. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in agricultural products—specifically fertilizers, plant health products, and crop chemicals—and will provide hands‑on technical solutions to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities in the agricultural sector and manage an assigned customer base across Mpumalanga.
• Conduct regular client visits, field demonstrations and product evaluations, providing technical recommendations based on crop needs and soil health.
• Deliver technical product training and support to customers and internal teams, advising farmers on fertilizers, plant nutrition and crop protection.
• Maintain detailed visit logs, sales call reports and forecasts, and prepare territory plans and call cycles.
• Stay informed on competitor activity, market trends and regional developments.

Required profile

• BSc Agriculture or equivalent, with additional short courses in agronomy, plant health or chemical products considered advantageous.
• 3–5 years proven experience in technical agricultural sales, with strong exposure to fertilizers, plant health products and agricultural chemicals.
• Ability to work independently, travel frequently within the province and demonstrate high reliability and professionalism.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of fertilizers, plant health and crop protection products.
• Familiarity with Arfosa, Bathos or similar agricultural product management systems.
• Experience conducting field demonstrations and providing technical recommendations to farmers.
