Technical Project Manager

About the role

The Technical Project Manager will lead end‑to‑end delivery of interior design, shopfitting and construction projects for a high‑end luxury interiors firm. Based on‑site in Sandton, you will ensure projects are completed on time, within scope and on budget while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define project plans, schedules and resource allocations.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams including designers, architects, contractors and suppliers.
• Monitor risks, dependencies and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive process improvements and ensure adherence to quality and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Prepare and deliver regular status reports to leadership.

Required profile

• Strong project and programme management experience, including planning, execution and risk management.
• Proven team leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Interior Design or a related field.
• Experience managing technical or construction projects, preferably in interiors, shopfitting or commercial fit‑outs.
• Ability to work on‑site in Sandton, handle multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Budgeting and cost‑control expertise.
• Knowledge of industry standards, building regulations and health‑and‑safety requirements applicable to construction and fit‑out projects.
