Technical Portfolio Analyst

About the role

As a Technical Portfolio Analyst you will join JUMO’s Portfolio and Prediction department, supporting daily loan‑book operations and helping to optimise financial returns while staying within the company’s risk appetite. You will work closely with product, technical and asset‑management teams in a remote‑first environment based in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Implement portfolio and asset‑management decisions to improve financial inclusion and returns.
• Collaborate with product and technical teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Use data insights to troubleshoot portfolio issues, create reports and set up alerts.
• Enhance and evolve the Portfolio Strategy Service and related processes.
• Provide technical support and complex problem‑solving across multiple teams.
• Work independently, challenge the status quo and contribute to innovation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the credit lifecycle and portfolio management concepts.
• Effective communication of technical concepts.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, remote‑first environment.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SQL and RDBMS technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift, SQL Server).
• Proficiency in Python or another programming language (preferred).
• Experience with version control (GitHub) and issue tracking (JIRA).
