Team Leader – Direct Sales (DFA)

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for a dynamic Team Leader to drive its Direct Financial Advisor (DFA) channel in Johannesburg. You will manage the end‑to‑end sales operating model, ensuring targets are met while fostering a high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Implement sales plans, pipelines and contact strategies for assigned agents.
• Maintain lead‑to‑quote and quote‑to‑conversion ratios, as well as NTU and cancellation metrics.
• Manage discount mandates to protect profitability and monitor cost‑to‑serve indicators.
• Coach sales staff through a traceable on‑the‑job process and promote best‑practice sharing.
• Oversee resource capacity planning and ensure consistent delivery of customer‑experience standards.
• Identify and execute process, product and system improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and champion a service‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading sales teams in a financial services environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
• Excellent knowledge of sales metrics, discount structures and profitability management.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and embed quality‑assurance findings.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
