Tax & Reporting Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Tax & Reporting Accountant to join our respected organisation in Midrand, Gauteng. The role is central to consolidating financial information, ensuring statutory compliance, and delivering high‑quality reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate month‑end financial data and prepare reporting packs for head office and business units on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Upload actuals, forecasts and budget data into Hyperion and Prevero, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
• Supervise the preparation and consolidation of annual financial statements and other statutory reports.
• Review intercompany transactions for tax compliance across relevant jurisdictions.
• Act as the primary local contact for international teams on Hyperion queries and financial reporting matters.
• Prepare detailed financial inputs for Board and EXCO meetings to support strategic decisions.
• Perform tax calculations and manage returns for income tax, VAT, WHT and PAYE, monitoring filing deadlines.
• Assist internal and external auditors with documentation and query responses.
• Lead the financial and commercial reporting team, fostering continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in tax and financial reporting within large or complex organisations.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships across the organisation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
