Tax Consultant

About the role

PwC is looking for a Tax Consultant to join its corporate tax practice within the financial services sector. The role offers exposure to audit, compliance and advisory work, supporting clients on income tax, deferred tax and broader tax strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Perform audit of tax reviews, including tax accrual and deferred tax assessments.
• Prepare and review corporate tax accounting assignments.
• Prepare, review and submit income tax and provisional tax returns.
• Draft tax opinions and structuring decks on the tax implications of transactions and restructures.
• Participate in corporate tax due‑diligence projects.
• Research complex tax issues and interpret tax legislation.
• Liaise with SARS and address queries raised by the tax authority.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, assurance teams and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• BCom degree majoring in Financial Accounting.
• CA(SA) qualification or in the process of qualifying.
• Experience working in the financial services industry.
