Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Accountant to join Rheinmetall Denel Munition (Pty) Ltd in South Africa. The role involves preparing tax returns, managing tax compliance, and supporting international tax activities for our weapons and ammunition division.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate tax returns and supporting schedules for Corporate Income Tax, Provisional Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax and International Tax.
• Manage the full accounting function for Permanent Establishments and prepare foreign tax invoices.
• Perform tax reporting, including income tax and deferred tax calculations for quarter‑end, year‑end, forecast and budget cycles.
• Compile notes for Annual Financial Statements relating to income and deferred tax.
• Conduct general ledger reconciliations for all tax‑related accounts.
• Draft and submit responses to SARS audit requests and maintain SARS tax registrations.
• Monitor tax legislation, prepare schedules for tax incentives and conduct tax research.
• Perform routine and ad‑hoc tax and accounting calculations, maintain internal tax policies and support special projects.

Required profile

• NQF 7 (Bachelor’s degree) in B.Com with Accounting and Tax.
• Professional designation such as SAIT, SAIPA, AGA (SA) or other SARS‑registered body.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in tax activities, preferably in manufacturing, cross‑border or international tax.

Required skills

• SAP experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
