T1 Technician – Surface & Underground (Evander, Mpumalanga)

About the role

The T1 Technician will provide comprehensive technical services to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electronic technology used for health, safety and productivity in the mining sector. This role is based on the Evander mine site and involves both surface and underground responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, certify and support electronic products and systems to the highest technical and safety standards.
• Set up and test units to meet specified requirements and perform quality checks in line with company policy.
• Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions or escalate as needed.
• Maintain electronic equipment and software, record maintenance requirements and assist with new projects.
• Operate hand and power tools safely, maintain housekeeping standards and complete required documentation.
• Liaise with other technical staff and on‑site customers to ensure quality, safety and contractual compliance.
• Provide regular feedback to the Technical Coordinator and Supervisor and support senior technicians.

Required profile

• National Diploma (N5) in Electrical/Electronics.
• Minimum 4 years experience in electronics hardware, software and IT (hardware, networks, software).
• Knowledge of the company’s Advantage product suite.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Strong organisational, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.
