T1 Technician – Eland, Surface and Underground

About the role

Schauenburg Systems is seeking a T1 Technician to provide comprehensive technical services for electronic technology used in the mining sector. The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient operation of electronic equipment on surface and underground sites.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, certify and support electronic products and systems on designated mines.
• Set up and test units to meet specified requirements and perform quality checks.
• Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions or escalate as needed.
• Maintain electronic equipment and software according to company standards and client scope.
• Report maintenance needs, assist with new projects, and complete required documentation.
• Operate hand and power tools safely, maintain housekeeping standards, and liaise with technical staff and customers.
• Provide regular feedback to supervisors and support senior technicians.

Required profile

• N4 qualification in Electrical/Electronics.
• Minimum 4 years experience in electronics (hardware and software) and IT (hardware, networks, software).
• Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Strong organisational, problem‑solving and interpersonal abilities.
