Surgical Unit Manager – Kimberley

About the role

The Large Hospital Group is seeking an experienced Surgical Unit Manager to lead nursing operations at its Kimberley facilities. The role focuses on delivering safe, high‑quality patient care while supporting a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily nursing activities and ensure adherence to hospital standards and policies.
• Manage staff rosters, monitor attendance, and provide assistance with clinical procedures such as intubation when required.
• Conduct handovers, maintain accurate health records, and audit compliance.
• Control inventory, ensuring stock is properly charged, credited, and managed.
• Promote patient health and wellbeing through effective communication and holistic care.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of management experience in a medical unit.
• Registered Nurse with current South African Nursing Council registration.
• Flexible to work shifts and adaptable working hours.
• Ability to implement and maintain health practice standards and relevant legislation.

Required skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ALS (Advanced Life Support) certification.
• Computer literacy.
